Vallejo Paints

Front Rank have selected a range of water based acrylic paints, metallic pigments, primers and varnish from Vallejo Model Color Paints which we believe are best suited to painting our ranges of miniatures. Vallejo Model Color has been specifically developed for miniature and model painting and will adhere to difficult surfaces such as metal and plastic. The consistency of Model Color allows for an extremely smooth and uniform paint film, with no trace of brushstrokes. Always work with a wet brush, dilute the acrylic paint with water and alcohol for the Metallic pigments, applying many thin layers to achieve depth and shadows. Model Color dries quickly to a matte, even and waterproof finish. Exact drying time depends on the temperature and humidity of the environment, on the surface which has been painted, on the thickness of the paint layer - although the colours are dry to the touch within minutes, the water content in the acrylic paint keeps on evaporating, the paint does not acquire its true permanence until several weeks after application.
